"China Road" is theme of April 1 lecture by Rob Gifford

 

Rob GiffordThe E.N. Thompson Lecture Series continues April 1 with Rob Gifford, who will speak on “China Road: A Journey into the Future of a Rising Power.” The lecture, which originates from the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, will be simulcast and followed by community conversations in Columbus at Central Community College, in Kearney at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, in North Platte at North Platte Community College South Campus, in Omaha on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus, in Scottsbluff at Western Nebraska Community College, and in Wayne at Wayne State College. Programs begin at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. Mountain Time in Scottsbluff).

"¡CARNAVAL!" continues through March 13

 

The exhibition "¡CARNAVAL!" continues through March 13 at El Museo Latino, 4701 S. 25th St. in Omaha. The show presents the theme of carnival as celebrated around the world, highlighting eight communities, including Laza, Spain; Venice, Italy; Basel, Switzerland; New Orleans, United Sates;  Port of Spain, Trinidad; Oruro, Bolivia;
Tlaxcala, Mexico; and Recife and Olinda, Brazil.
