Diverse NHC programs serve thousands statewide  
 

Nebraska Humanities Council programming is diverse and serves thousands of Nebraskans every year.

 

Capitol Forum encourages high school students to better understand American democratic values and examine global issues facing the U.S. Chautauqua brings historical figures to life and provides educational entertainment for children and adults. The Nebraska Book Festival celebrates the state's literary heritage and encourages young writers. NHC funds Humanities Desk, regular NET Radio coverage of the humanities.

 

Museum on Main Street (MOMS) is a partnership of the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and the NHC that serves small-town museums and citizens of rural Nebraska. Prime Time is a literacy program that fosters high academic expectations for children and encourages parents to speak and read English. Nebraska's Changing Population is a five-year initiative exploring demographic changes shaping Nebraska’s future.
