Categories and Eligibility Requirements Category I. General Public Program 1. Yours must be a
not-for-profit
organization.
Cost: A $50 processing fee must accompany the application form. There is a $75 processing fee for the following high-use speakers: Dale Clark, Darrel Draper, Charlotte Endorf, and Chris Sayre. For a second program in a calendar year, the processing fee is $100. A $100 processing fee also is required if the second program is for a high-use speaker. Limitations: Two programs per calendar year for the same organization and/or targeted audience. If an organization has a Notable Nebraskans program (whether it is the first or second program of the year) the processing fee for the second program is $50. Organizations are responsible for paying speaker honoraria and mileage over $500. For example, if the honorarium and mileage total $540, the NHC pays $500 and the organization pays $40. Category II. Educational Institutions and Youth Organizations 1. Yours must be an
educational institution
or not-for-profit youth organization.
Examples of eligible organizations: 1. Elementary, Middle or
High School
Cost: A $50 processing fee must accompany the application form. There is a $75 processing fee for the following high-use speakers: Dale Clark, Darrell Draper, Charlotte Endorf, and Chris Sayre. For a second program in a calendar year, the processing fee is $100. A $100 processing fee also is required if the second program is for a high-use speaker. Free or reduced lunch eligibility: In schools where 50% or more of the students are eligible for the free and reduced price school meals program, the processing fee for the first program of the year is $35 and $50 for high-use speakers. For the second program of the year, the processing fee is $100. If one of the two programs is for a Notable Nebraskans speaker, the processing fee for the second program is $50. Limitations: Two programs per school or youth organization and/or target audience per calendar year. If an organization has a Notable Nebraskans program (whether is the first or second program of the year) the processing fee for the second program is $50. Cost: A $50 processing fee PLUS 50% of speakers expense as determined by the NHC office.** There is a $75 processing fee for the following high-use speakers: Dale Clark, Darrell Draper, Charlotte Endorf, and Chris Sayre. For the second program of a calendar year, the cost is a $100 processing fee PLUS 50% of speakers expense as determined by the NHC office. A $100 processing fee also is required if the second program is for a high-use speaker. (**Public Institutions only have to pay the processing fee.) Limitations: Two programs per calendar year for the same organization and/or targeted audience. Category V. Residencies 1. Yours must be a
not-for-profit
organization or educational institution (depending on the residency).
Cost: $50 processing fee per contact hour (for example, a four-hour program would cost $200). Limitations: A one-day program should not be less than three hours or more than eight hours. To view the policies for a Category V program click here Category VI. By the People 1. Yours must be a
