Traveling
Encounter Kits and Trunks
Guidelines
The NHC traveling
encounter kits and trunks, which are part of the Humanities Resource Center, are designed
to educate Nebraska youth about American and Great Plains culture.
Guidelines
Any public or private
school, youth organization, library or museum in Nebraska is eligible to reserve NHC traveling
encounter kits and trunks.

Encounter kits and trunks must be requested
at least 14 days in advance.

To reserve an
encounter kit, trunk or trunk set, the project director (teacher, youth organization director,
library or museum staff)
must fill out the proper request form, which can be found on this web site
in a printable pdf file.

Encounter kits and trunks may be reserved
for up the three weeks.

The project director
will receive a confirmation from
the NHC.

The NHC will pay for UPS
ground shipping both to and from your organization. Instructions for returning
the kits and trunks will be found in a clear plastic sheet at the top.

Each kit
and trunk has an inventory of all contents in a clear plastic sheet at the top.
Before shipping, make sure all materials have been returned to the correct
encounter kit or trunk.

The
organization is responsible
for paying the replacement cost of all damaged or lost contents of the
encounter kits or trunks.

The project director
is responsible for contacting the NHC regarding damaged or lost
materials.
